# Common Errors

### Before you start

Close all games and launchers before you open the loader.

### Essential requirements

#### Install Microsoft Visual C++

Install the latest x64 package before you continue.

#### Remove antivirus software

Uninstall all antivirus software.

Disabling it is not enough.

#### Disable Windows Defender protection

Disable **Real-time protection** and **Tamper Protection**.

#### Disable Memory Integrity

Open **Windows Security** → **Device security** → **Core isolation**.

Turn off **Memory Integrity** before you continue.

#### Remove conflicting anti-cheats

Uninstall FaceIT or Vanguard.

Close every game and launcher before you continue.

**Secure Boot** and **TPM** do not affect KernAim.

You can leave them enabled or disabled.

### Menu does not show, disappears, or stays black

1. Complete every requirement above.
2. Run the game in **Borderless** or **Windowed** mode.
3. Disable overlays like NVIDIA GeForce, Discord, and Medal.
4. Press `F1` before you click **Start** in the loader.

This enables compatibility mode.

Use a USB installer, not **Reset this PC**.
